Flu Shot
In November, I introduced the 2007 flu shot program in the legislature. With cameras rolling, I bragged about how my healthy lifestyle and annual flu shots kept me healthy and vibrant, then turned over the podium to a nurse. Unfortunately, the impact of my presentation was then diluted when I was overcome by a sudden coughing fit that forced me to the back of the stage. As I recovered my composure, I hoped the assembled television cameras did not notice my sudden seizure. The government is facilitating flu shots for the particularly vulnerable – including seniors. Pregnant women are not encouraged to have them, however.
